Background:

This is the ultimate portable raised wooden runway that will last a lifetime! Each 8' section fits together like a tight puzzle. I designed it so it's nearly seamless. Every detail of this runway is a pole vaulter's dream from the perfectly aligned approach run marks every 6" down the side to the white velcro strips on top to define the runway width and allow for markers that can never be kicked or moved by accident. There's a specific reason for every design aspect of this runway. The plywood top overlaps the side walls intentionally to allow for easy moving of the runway. There are no nails in my design, only stainless steel screws. The plant box section is specifically designed to fit in between the front buns of any pit, including the newer UCS pits where the front buns and extensions hug the plant box without requiring a box collar. I even designed in a 1/4" piece of steel angle iron to brace behind the bottom of the plant box so it will never blow out and gives a near feel of a box set in concrete. I've already had coaches from across the US ask me for the design plans. I took took detailed pictures of every design phase. You can't beat the forgiveness, yet springy feel of this runway on your legs. How sturdy is the design? I had two sections drop on their sides from 6 feet in a moving truck and you wouldn't even know it. Every joint stayed as tight as the day I originally built it. The pamphlet will have every detail on the build process along with tips on painting, stencilling and how to cut and lay the rubber surface and how to deal with temperature change that expands and shrinks the rubber surface.
